“I’ve made more income in the past 6 months than I ever have in a single year of owning my business. My calendar is full for the next couple months, to the point where I kinda wish things would slow down for a bit!”

Q: Where was your business at before offering intensives and taking DIMT? How much were you charging for projects? What did your income look like? What did getting/working with clients look like?
A: “Before I started taking DIMT, I was still doing my business on the side while in my 9-5 corporate job. I was doing as much as I was able, but never could make enough money to feel secure. All I wanted was to quit my job and do my business full time. Eventually I hit a breaking point and put in my 2-weeks notice on a total leap of faith and hoped the extra time would allow me to meet my goals. I was only 7-8 months into business. That was right around the time I completed DIMT (July 2021). My 2 packages were $1000 and $2000, and at that point I had only booked 4 paying clients. I was putting a lot of effort into my Instagram marketing, as that’s where 3/4 of the clients found me (one was a referral).”
Q: What did your business look like immediately following? How long did it take for you to gain traction and start booking intensives?
A: “Right after I went full time, I reworked my packages and started offering Intensives. I offered one at a really discounted rate to practice, and it took a couple weeks after announcing to get that booked. After that, I booked 6 more Brand Intensives within the first 6 months of offering them! I also booked a Showit template customization, which led me to creating my Web Intensive offer. I was only charging $1500 at the time, so I wasn’t making a ton of income. But it allowed me to gain some traction + more portfolio work and testimonials to share.”
Q: Where is your business at today? How much are you charging for projects? What does your income look like? What does getting/working with clients look like? How has it affected your personal life?
A: “I’ll start off with a disclaimer for this one. My answer for this would have been completely different a year ago. From the middle of 2022 through most of 2023, business was HARD. I was feeling the struggle of not bringing in consistent income, made some educational investments out of desperation that I regretted, lost money some months, and had a baby in the middle of it all and went 2 months with 0 income. Coming out of that was a really slow and discouraging process — but I will say, Intensives were about the only thing I was booking at that time. If I didn’t have that, I would have made nothing.
That being said, NOW in 2024, my business is finally in a place that I could almost call thriving. I started to get a lot more referrals from past clients and in the last several months, have partnered with another entrepreneur to offer branding to her venue owner clients. I have increased the price of my Brand Intensives to $2750 and Web Intensives to $2500. I refined my largest package (thanks to your Brand Strat course btw), and now offer that for a starting price of $9700. One person has booked at that price so far, and I was honestly shocked that someone would pay ME that amount!
I’ve made more income in the past 6 months than I ever have in a single year of owning my business. My calendar is full for the next couple months, to the point where I kinda wish things would slow down for a bit! (My past self would hate me for saying that lol). The majority of my clients this year have come from referrals, and I’ve hardly posted anything on Instagram. I still have a ways to go to feel like I’m making an income that feels steady, but…
